I know Tuesday feels like ages ago, back when the Toronto Raptors still had some hope. All jokes aside it was a winning day in MLB betting. Getting both side plays, including the second underdog winner of the week. We are still looking for our first prop winner though — see results below.
Tonight we have a lighter schedule in the majors. There are a couple of day games too, so the pickings were not as robust as they are most days.
Let's pick some winners though.

MLB Picks for Thursday April 13
Favorite
Toronto Blue Jays -1.5, -118 (vs Detroit Tigers)
Toronto has taken the first two games of this series, a 9-3 win in the opener and 4-3 last night. They are significant favorites so I am going with the runline to make it worthwhile. Most of the time I am looking for moneylines, but this spot is too good to ignore. Starter Chris Bassitt has not been great for the Jays so far, but the offense has cooked most of the season. Even missing a final at bat they should win easily. Of the Tigers' nine losses, only last night was within a run.
Underdog
Minnesota Twins +130 (at New York Yankees)
The Twins are off to a good start. That is part of the equation, but I also like the opportunity to fade rookie starter Jhony Brito of the Yankees. He is making just his third MLB start but is being priced more like a sure thing in New York this evening. Both teams have pitched well this season so a crisp game where one or two keys hits will make the difference is expected.
Prop
Spencer Turnbull Under 15.5 Out (-135)
This was is correlated with the Jays play above. Turnbull starts for Detroit tonight and the matchup does not look good for a strong outing. He got 17 outs against Boston but just seven in his first start against the Rays. He is hardly efficient and even though the Tigers will be looking for length he is not the guy to provide it.
