Cade Horton was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on August 20, 2001. He played high school baseball at Norman High School in Norman, OK. He was the top-ranked shortstop and the second-ranked overall player in Oklahoma. Horton at Norman played baseball and football, in his senior year he threw for 3,084 yards and 26 touchdowns as well as rushing for 1,149 yards and 15 touchdowns. On the diamond, he hit .375 before the season was shut down due to COVID. Horton was ranked the third shortstop nationally and 27 ^th for overall players. He committed to play college baseball at the University of Oklahoma.
