With Kyler Murray out for the first couple weeks of the 2023 season, Cardinals’ rookie Clayton Tune has an interesting opportunity to possibly be the Week One starter.
Per Greg Rosenthal, there is a “non-zero chance” that Clayton Tune is handed the starting job come Sunday, September 10th.

The Cardinals, of course, had Kyler Murray start as a rookie back in 2019, but contrary to Murray, Clayton Tune was not drafted until the 5th round.
Nevertheless, the Cardinals may have nothing to lose.
Despite an encouraging couple of seasons, Arizona quickly found themselves in a “rebuilding” phase after finishing last year towards the bottom of the league.
And this season is not expected to be much better. Some even have the Cardinals finishing worst in the NFL, such as USA Today and their 2-15 prediction.
So, what do the Cards have to lose by turning towards Clayton until Murray is healthy again?
The rookie is already raising eyebrows during training camp. On Tuesday, Tune even practiced with the first-team offense.

Should the Cardinals give Clayton Tune a chance to start Week One?
