Reports: Eagles keep DE Josh Sweat on restructured deal
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Defensive end Josh Sweat is staying with the Philadelphia Eagles on a restructured deal, multiple outlets reported Friday.

The Eagles had reportedly been fielding trade calls for Sweat, who is entering the final year of a three-year, $42 million extension signed in 2021.

There were no guarantees left on that deal, but his new contract for 2024 is worth up to $13 million and includes $10 million guaranteed, per ESPN and NFL Network.

Sweat, who turns 27 later this month, started all 17 games last season and contributed 6.5 sacks, 23 quarterback hits and 43 tackles.

A Pro Bowl selection in 2021, Sweat has recorded 35 sacks, seven forced fumbles, 82 QB hits and 196 tackles in 88 games (49 starts) since Philadelphia drafted him in the fourth round in 2018.
